The Experience

Kenyan coffees are world renowned. Our Kenya Kabare AA is no different. As you pour a cup, its aroma will have you wondering whether you just brewed coffee or baked a sweet blackberry pie! This heavy bodied brew contains lovely dark berry flavor notes with a hint of cinnamon dancing in the background. Its mildly sweet acidity will have you intrigued until the last drop!

Every Cup of Coffee has a Story

Hailing from the Southwest region of Kenya called Kirinyaga County, this bean is grown in the famous Mt. Kenya Highlands.  Kirinyaga County has quite the name to live up to. After all, it is named after Mt. Kenya’s original title. The unique terroir offered in this part of Kenya allows local micro origin farms to produce higher quality crops, fully embodied by this coffee.

Our AA Kabare was produced by the Kabare Farmers Cooperative Society. It owns 11 wet mills and collects coffee from more than 6,000 farmers across 400 hectares of land. Farmers handpick the red ripe cherries and deliver them to the mill on the same day to undergo a wet and dry mill process. Before the coffee is delivered to the final dry mill, it is sun-dried on traditional raised beds.

The result? A coffee that was ranked #4 on the Coffee Review’s Top 30 Coffees of 2017.
